It’s the weekend and the sun is shining so we can have some FREE fun in Central Texas! Whether you want to enjoy the great outdoors or are always looking to cool off in the air conditioning, these top ten FREE events might just have what you need to make your weekend perfect.

Teacher Appreciation Month

Yoga suitable for children
Friday August 26 | From 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. | Pease Park, 1100 Kingsbury Street

Come stretch, breathe, move, dance, relax, create and have fun! These classes will include age-appropriate yoga and movement, including breathing, poses, games, stories, music, relaxation, meditation, and more. Your little yogi will be able to practice fine and gross motor skills, social and group skills, and begin to learn the tools of mindfulness and breathing/stillness. Free and open to the public!

Pease Night

Pease Park Conservancy CEO Heath Riddles-Sanchez is hosting a series of peaceful nights this summer alongside Brother Friend! That evening Brother Friend brings live music from Graham Wilkinson to Pease Park and will be offering beer, wine and snacks for your delicious summer evening. No pre-registration necessary.

Fan Fest and After Party Gamblers Day
Saturday August 27 | 11 a.m. to midnight | BBQ Stubbs, 801 Red River

Come celebrate our city’s first professional bull team, the Austin Gamblers, at the Fan Fest & After Party at Stubb’s BBQ on Saturday August 27th. Fan Fest and After Party are FREE and all ages are welcome!

The Pokemon Club
Saturday August 27 | From 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. | Round Rock Public Library, 216 Main Street East, Round Rock

Fans can play and trade Pokémon cards and battle on their Nintendo devices, or just talk about Pokémon. Parents are welcome to relax and chat while their children are engaged.

Start your Saturday kickboxing! This FREE fitness class at Pan Am Park will be led by certified instructors and is suitable for all fitness levels and abilities.

Open chess game for children

Lagers and literature: a book fair for adults

Lagers & Literature is Between Brewing’s very first book fair! Shop at local booksellers, learn about book and paper arts, explore archives and zines, sign up or renew your library card, and more. Local author Keri Blakinger will also be signing her memoir, “Corrections in Ink,” from 1-2 p.m.!

Open Mic for musicians
