Gateways Music Festival in Skipton this weekend offering Covid jabs to over 18s



A MUSIC festival being held in Skipton this weekend at Aireville Park not only offers two days of group music from real top bands, but you can get your Covid jab there as well.

The Gateways Festival featuring well-known names like Razorlight, Scouting for Girls, Lightning Seeds, as well as Buzzcocks kicks off in the park on Friday August 6, with outdoor films showing The Greatest Showman at 4:30 p.m. and Bohemian Rhapsody at 7:00 p.m. .

Saturday, Lightning Seeds, Feeder, Buzzcocks and Dodgy, King No One and Bull. Also on stage, Katy Hurt and Liam Jarvis.

Sunday’s lineup is Razorlight, Scouting for Girls, Toploader, Artful Dodger, as well as Emily Capell, Andrew Cushin, Cody Fechan and Aliensdontringdoorbells.

The event aims for family fun with a fun fair, street vendors, bars, stalls and a fireworks finale.

A Battle of the Bands competition also

Keelham Farm Shop, based in Skipton, is one of the sponsors.

Those over 18 who have not yet been vaccinated against Covid can also “get vaccinated” between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, thanks to the Modality Partnership which will supervise the vaccinations.

Lois Brown of Modality said: “We want to offer jabs wherever young people might be during the summer and the chance to promote the importance of getting stung to keep people safe at one of the premier festivals. of music to be played locally since the end of the lockdown was too good to pass up.

Event Director Eddie Elliott-Smith added, “We are proud to announce that there will be a vaccination pop-up at the Gateways Festival for our launch year. This past year has been a tough one for the events industry, so we’re extremely happy to be one of the first music festivals to move forward, but we recognize that Covid still exists and we all have the social responsibility to protect each other. ”
