Kid rock lambasted the “ass-waking critics” of his latest single, saying they were the ones who inspired him to write the song in the first place.

Last month, Kid rock published “Don’t tell me how to live”, a provocative new track in which he rages against “awakened” culture and mainstream media at a time when “every opinion has a millennium offended”.

The Michigan-based rap-rocker’s first new music since 2017, which was recorded with Canadian hard rockers MONSTER TRUCK and plays the song of the same title from this group’s 2015, was accompanied by an official music video that features Kid rock wearing a shirt that says ‘social media sucks’. “I’m the last of those still screaming ‘Fuck you’,” he raps in the song.

Thursday (December 16), Kid rock taken to his Facebook page to retaliate against some of his detractors, calling them “idiots” and urging them to “toughen up and enjoy life”.

He wrote: “All your little asses woke up the critics and the trolls, that’s exactly what got me to create “Don’t tell me how to live”. Thank you for the inspiration! Keep shoveling coal on the fire, idiots! I fucking love it!

Last January, Kid rock revealed that the COVID-19 pandemic had given him a lot of time to write new music, saying, “I haven’t had that much time to work on music since my first record.” According to Detroit Free Press, he added that he planned to release a 50-song triple album this year, consisting of 10 hip-hop tracks, 10 rock tracks, 10 country tracks and 20 unreleased tracks.

Kid rock, fervent supporter of the old President Donald Trump, made headlines in 2017 when he announced he was considering running for a US Senate seat in Michigan.

In September 2020, Kid rock organized an outdoor rally for Assetpresidential campaign in Michigan. Three and a half years earlier, the musician visited the Oval Office with his fellow rocker Ted nugent and former candidate for GOP vice-president Sarah palin.

Kid rock was once a competitor on CNB‘s “Celebrity Apprentice”, who played Asset.
