Manchester United fans react as Anthony Martial closes in on loan from Sevilla

Manchester United striker Anthony Martial is expected to arrive in Spain in the coming hours before completing his loan spell at Sevilla.

sky sports claim that the La Liga side have agreed to pay Martial’s £240,000 weekly salary which was the sticking point of the deal before.

The Guardian report Sevilla are paying a £5million loan fee to take him for the rest of the season.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano says Sevilla manager Monchi has been working on the deal for two months and no purchase option is included in the deal.

The France international told interim boss Ralf Rangnick last month that he wanted to leave Manchester United.

The 26-year-old made his first appearance for the German in Saturday’s 1-0 win over West Ham.

The former Monegasque played a key role in winning over Marcus Rashford after combining with Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani. It was his first appearance since December 2.

But United’s number nine is set to move alongside Julen Lopetegui, who is in the midst of a title chase with Real Madrid.

Sevilla are currently four points behind Los Blancos with 16 La Liga games remaining. However, the Frenchman won’t be playing Champions League football next month as Sevilla failed to qualify in their group and instead dropped out in the Europa League.

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague advised Martial to have an “instant impact” in a squad that “needs some freshening up” as several players frequently miss games.
