Queenscliff Music Festival 2021 canceled

The Queenscliff Music Festival 2021 has been canceled despite its end of November date, with QMF 2022 set for November 25-27, 2022

The QMF team has been late to cancel its 2021 iteration given its November dates as Australia rolls out of COVID-19 restrictions, but organizers ran out of time to secure a framework of Victorian public events.

Festival organizers are investigating potential summer events, but current QMF 2021 tickets will automatically transfer and become valid for QMF 2022, unless customers wish to receive a refund.

“We started hosting an event this year with a lot of hope and optimism in early 2021. Things looked overwhelmingly positive in Australia at the time, so we moved forward, booked acts, put tickets on sale. , made plans…. and then COVID reared its ugly head again, ”organizers said.

“Over the past few weeks, we have explored all options for a November 2021 event to take place, including hosting a demo event in a small format, showing how events could return safely, with proof of vaccination, social distancing, etc.

“Unfortunately, time is up and without a Victorian public event framework in place against which our event request can be assessed or access to event cancellation insurance, our event cannot take place.
It’s a risky business to start hosting an event, spend large amounts of money up front, and then have the potential to shut it down at the last minute. If that were to happen to QMF, it would threaten our ability to be here in 2022.

“It absolutely seems like we are almost there…. but unfortunately the time frame for getting something done is just too long for us to keep moving forward. Vaccination rate projections show Victoria will reach 80% + in early November, and the state government roadmap suggests events will return, but potentially not until early 2022. As such, we’re busy again. to work on a plan B (or is it C / D / E now?) options for this summer. We hope that we can bring back some music and reunite with all of you at Queenscliff in one way or another in early 2022. Unfortunately, we are unable to announce anything at this time as we do. had hoped, but stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks. /month.”

All current ticket holders will be contacted separately via email regarding the ticket transfer and refund process.

Emails to ticket holders regarding this process will be sent out today, and the organizers will also send an email through Trybooking just to make sure customers receive the information.
